Primer sanded and fairing filler is applied to fill imperfections before applying the next coat of primer. Primer will expose a lot of imperfections that are hard to see after fairing the epoxy.

4 more coats of primer have been applied with sanding after each coat with 120 - 220 grit sandpaper to make the hull as fair as possible. The surface of your finish paint will only look as good as the surface of the primer under it, so be very sure to fill all imperfections while priming, I cannot stress this enough.
