Varnishing

All brightwork (exposed wood) must be coated with at least 6 coats of UV protection varnish (clear gloss). Masking paper hung to protect the finished interior paint.

The vertical ribs are being prepared for varnishing by sanding each one until the epoxy coating is faired.

The interior is masked around each vertical rib to protect it from varnish which is visible over finish paint.

The vertical ribs have been finished with 6 coats of gloss varnish for UV protection and then coated with satin varnish to give the look of hand rubbed oil.

The breasthook and sheers have been coated with 6 coats of gloss as well and will be finished with satin also.
