Bow Seat & Storage

The bow seat consists of 3 pieces of spanish cedar to support the seat/top, a seat/top made from 6 pieces of edge glued ¾" spanish cedar reinforced with #20 biscuits and trimmed with teak, 2 front panels of marine plywood. All pieces are pre-coated with epoxy for protection against moisture and pre-finished if possible.

3 pieces of spanish cedar are installed with stainless steel screws and epoxy for bonding and are attached between the 2 forward vertical ribs and a piece of spanish cedar attached to the bow stem for support.

The front panels are constructed of ½" marine plywood with pieces of spanish cedar attached to the front to support the floorboards that will cover the bottom.

The front panels are attached to the 2nd horizontal rib and the support frame with epoxy and ring shanks. The annular nails are set below the surface and filled with epoxy mixed with fairing filler.

After the front panels are painted to match the hull interior, the seat/top is set in place. The seat/top is securely attached with angle brackets and screws, but can be removed for future maintenance if necessary.
