Place the breasthooks in each end, place an identifying mark on each one to ensure you attach them to the spot they are fit to. The breasthook should fit in the bow and sit proud of the hull sides by 1/4". If they don’t fit properly remove and reshape as needed.

Place the breasthook back in the bow just the same as when you fit it. Using 1 1/2" annular nails, drive nails at the bow and rear end on both sides. Be careful to drive the nails at a proper angle so that they stay in the breasthook.
